Where Is Your Solo Airplane Now..?
#22
The only catch with my plan is that any airplane I buy will likely not be in need of a paint job, unless I get it REAL cheap. So, I've got to have an airplane AND have a paint job done in order to affix the number to the tail. However, at $10 a year, I can afford to hold it for a good while until the opportunity comes.

My family still owns the airplane I soled in. I still commute to work in our little 152 when I get a chance. Still a nice airplane and lots of good memories.
I still think buying a 152 is a great way to build time and have fun. I'm proud that most of the time that I paid for training I was buying an airplane. The only time bought out of that was for multi training and commercial. If you help with the annuals it isn't that much money to run one once you pay it off.

N6210G - 1969 C150K is apparently still owned by my first (real) flight instructor, Sacramento, CA area. He also had a 172 that I didn't solo due to the fact that he was working on it (He was an A&P as well as a Doctor in Psychology), his 172 I called the "Flying Turd". It was all brown with yellow stripes, N158AE. The "turd" is owned by someone else, down Hwy 50 in Placerville. I flew there with my grandpa once and saw it on the ramp.
I then soloed N8276L in Benson, AZ (E95), a 1967 C172H that I took on my solo cross country. It's owned by a fellow who used to CFI at the FBO at E95, but he has it at KFHU I think.

Solo Champ
Soloed 65 hp Aeronca Champ on the old grass runway at Kerrville, Texas in January 1964. Aircraft is located 60 miles NW of me in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Farmer owns it with 85 HP and still no electrical. Next month on anniversary of solo, plan on flying around the patch on farmers airport.
