Thoughts Of The Day
I'm taking a break from my coffee shop in between orders of latte and Cafe Americano. In this very quiet November day in Seattle, I find myself drawn to introspection, which is a good thing given this crazy world we live in.
So what have I been introspecting about?
I think about Freightpuppy and her Mom. Everything will be fine and you will be a stronger person in ways that will surprise you.
Little Nicholas who comes into my coffee shop every Wednesday and Thursday mornings with his Dad. He is my Chocolate Kid - he orders a warm hot chocolate drink and a chocolate muffin. Next week, I promised to make him my famous melt-in-your-mouth chocolate cake.
I think about my Doing Laundry thread in Cargo last night. Still waiting for pictures of TonyC in spandex shorts and MD11F8Dog in Commando Wear.
Officer Timothy Brenton of Seattle Police Department who was murdered while on duty last Saturday. Life is so fragile and you never know when it's your time to go.
The news this morning about all the people whose unemployment benefits will run out this week. What is this world coming to that honest folk cannot find a job and take care of their families? What does it take to get this economy moving again?
Finally, I think of all the fine people I've met on APC and even the lurkers from all around the world. My perspective and understanding of aviation and the airlines come from my friendship with an old F-18 guy and The Quintessential Captain. It's good to see other aspects. I know a good place when I see one. I've gotten more than I've given.
