iPhone or Blackberry
This might not be the right thread to put this in, but I am trying to get some information on the iPhone verses the backberry bold from guys who have them. I see all kinds of people with the iPhone and all seem to like it. But I have a better deal through AT&T to get the blackberry and it can also be insured for damage or theft, which apparantly isn't available for the iPhone. Basically, I wan't to get on the internet with it and want to listen to music on it. Not sure what other bells and whistles are really needed. Any advice or feedback is appreciated.

You can buy a 3rd party warranty for iPhone that will give you what you need. I love my iPhone with an "actual" keyboard. I've had both touch screen keyboards and button keyboards and I love the iPhone keyboard more. You learn how to do tricks with it after a while. Plus the keys pop up above your finger so you know for sure what you're hitting. Harder to make mistakes on the iPhone IMO. Go iPhone and you won't have buyers remorse.

I have the iphone, it is OK at best, I am a PC user so I am not a apple junkie, (but I do own some stock). I have found for my uses, a phone that would run the Windows CE or windows based software would suite me better. The planes I fly do not offer weight/balance or performance for the Iphone, they also do not offer it for the Crackberry either so I guess I would be out of luck with those also. I do miss having real buttons to push, still have not gotten used to having no tactile feedback while typing. All in all I do not know if I would get it again. I have played some movies on it but I have to rip them into a format the Iphone likes. I have a lot of my DVD's on my PC hard drive and getting them into the iphone is not so simple. I guess if I was not a cheapskate I would buy the movies from Itunes and be done with it, but I hate to pay twice for something I already have.
My e-mail server at work seems to work better with the blackberry for us. I cannot send emails directly from the Iphone because I do not have a .mac email address, I use my company email address, and outlook at work. I might be able to get it to work but I have not had any luck so far. As of now I log onto my email through the web and send messages that way.
The games are fun on it and the mp3/itunes player works well, again had to convert my mp3 into itunes. The picture quality is very impressive on the iphone and the motion sensing of it is way cool.
Good luck with choice

I currently have the BB Storm and have been mostly dissapointed with it. The first reason being the phone was almost impossible to use before the latest software update. Also, as a first time BB user i didnt realize that the time on the phone didnt update automatically with different time zones which is a pain in the butt on overnights (especially when you forget to set the right time).I am by no means a "tech" guy with phones or anything, but it seems like the iphone is a much better quality phone. I probably wont buy another BB.

I've had both as well (my BB was the BB Curve), and I definitely prefer the iPhone. However, I do second what a poster said about missing real buttons to push. Also, the battery on the iPhone doesn't last all that long. That's probably because I download apps and listen to music on it and all that... And the volume when I am talking on the iPhone is much lower than it should be. I've grown used to all of this though.

My vote goes out to the Iphone. I don't know what it is with most people, but I find touchscreen just fine, and precise at best. Maybe the haters have chubby fingers, I dunno..
Battery life is dismal though. I use my Iphone as if it were my portable pc; Graphing/Scientific calculators, maps, sport scores, weather, and gps can drain the battery terribly fast.
If you're looking for versatility, go with the Iphone; the number of useful applications available are incredible.
