I used them for a good while, but they scratch easily on the metal in the flight deck. Some of those do not buff out.

I've spent 200 on ecco's. They didn't last through one season of walk arounds in glycol. Sole's cracked. They were very comfortable. Right now I've been wearing dockers PROPOSAL - Black at Dockers Shoes.com
At first, they weren't so comfortable, but after a nice pair of insoles and some breaking in, they are incredible. No metal, no problems. I wear ariat ropers in the winter.

I've had my Ecco's for 4 years. They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable shoes I own. In addition to work, I wear them with suits and slacks. Well worth the $175, in my opinion.
I'd be curious to hear about the poster who had ecco's that cracked in the sole area. Perhaps we have different models.

But the synthetic insole will require a set of oder-eaters.
I get about two years out of mine, and I use them for military as well as flying.
