Question N685WH Mayday Call 9-9-09

Anybody have any info on N685WH? At about 3:10PM CT I heard this aircraft call a mayday on 121.5 due to an engine failure. He said he was near 3Y3 (central Iowa) but couln't make the airport and would be making an off airport landing. Several aircraft responded to his call, but he sounded like he was in real trouble. Just wondering how he made out...hopefully he's O.K.

According to flight aware, it didn't make it. Could be wrong though.

Brings new meaning to the term "buyer beware."

He was flying the plane back from SD where he had just purchased it. Hopefully he already had insurance on it.

That's 'Bo' Mabry flying that thing and Bo is one of the big wigs in the Swift Association. Not likely he didn't do a good preflight.
