Preflighting FO steps in wet concrete??

Well, then go work for SWA so you can look like them! I could care less how much they make...........I'd much prefer to be flying larger planes to places other than just the USA. As I said before, if you don't want to look the part, then don't take the job. Just remember, perception is a lot in our job. You want to look like everyone else? I don't. I want to look like the boss.

When it's required for an international destination, yes, I DO wear it.
It always amazes me how many pilots would do just about anything to get to the point of being an airline pilot so they can wear the "uniform" and get some respect, and then when they finally get the job, they do everything they can to look like crap and wonder why they get no respect. The pilot in the photo looks like a professional. He's doing his job, and doing it well. Apparently that bothers a lot of pilots on this forum. Maybe some of the "pilots" on this forum aren't quite up to the standards of what a REAL airline pilot should look like or how they should act.

Uhhhh, yeah..... I'm sure that's why most of us became pilots - to wear a uniform and get some respect. What???!!! YGBSM.

Required, but over half the pilot group ditched them when mgt started harassing us with "proper uniform wear." And when I mean harassment, I mean monthly emails quoting some b.s. romantic reason as to why our pilots in the '30s looked sharp and how we should imitate how they looked. Just recently the chief pilot's office had little cards with the uniform requirements printed on them, in what I thought was a threatening way.
Hey, here's an idea, how bout fixing the airline first instead of telling us how to dress?
Oh, and maybe if we had decent looking hats a la Delta, more folks would wear them. Our hats (Superior) are crap and have a patch instead of a metallic emblem. Corny.

I flew with a guy this past summer who did. He wore his blazer, a long sleeve shirt, and his hat. And we fly a DC9! It was over a 100 degrees in DFW, and he played it off like winter. I was sweating just looking at him.
