Serves you right for doing a walk around. I always just trust the maintenance crew when they say the jet is good to go. lol

Yeah, me too. Especially when it comes right out of the mx hangar. I mean, they ARE mechanics so of course they know what they are doing.

I always wear my hat. If you don't want to look like a pilot, then why bother getting a job that requires you look like one?

When I flew for Trans World Express on the ATR, I had an overnight in BUF. When we arrrived at the plane for our morning departure, the plane was sitting in two feet of new snow. It was freezing cold when I did the preflight, so naturally it was "quick". When I got to the cockpit, the captain looked at me and asked if I had done the preflight. I said "yes", at which point he said, "would you mind doing it again, but this time put some footprints in the snow?" We both just sat there and laughed........

I guess SWA pilots don't want to look like pilots, either. Wait, they can't be pilots, they make $190/hr flying a 737. Silly me.

Well, then go work for SWA so you can look like them! I could care less how much they make...........I'd much prefer to be flying larger planes to places other than just the USA. As I said before, if you don't want to look the part, then don't take the job. Just remember, perception is a lot in our job. You want to look like everyone else? I don't. I want to look like the boss.

I'm curious, do you wear your jacket during the summer?
