The guy is a mass-murderer, some things are black and white, permitting him to receive a hero's welcome is yet another injustice.

It's not hate.. it's the natural principle of Justice - without which there would only be chaos. Governments have an absolute right to avenge evil and protect their citizens. People have a right to be outraged if they feel justice was not served. In this case one can only hope that after he dies there will be justice.

Before you get too righteous, why don't you read up on the history of William Walker and how his legacy had a direct effect on US policy in Nicaragua in the 70's and 80's? My point is that a country doesn't have to plant a flag to practice imperialism......in this case, economic imperialism.

(Before you flag wavers start telling me to leave the US if I don't like it, I happen to love this country and scrutiny and criticism doesn't change that)

Unfortunately the Swiss just found out about our economic imperialism and so will many other countries in the near future , wow! never thought I would agree with a Zapata post .

I don't know about you but if I was assigned to fly that POS home I would refuse to do it. How any airline pilot could sit in the cockpit and know the POS in the back blew up a 747 is beyond me.

Default Lockerbie Bomber traded for Drilling Rights

It has nothing to do with compassion. It was a deal by big oil (BP), via their proxies in the British government, to obtain drilling rights in Libya.

The British government decided it was “in the overwhelming interests of the United Kingdom” to make Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, eligible for return to Libya, leaked ministerial letters reveal.

Gordon Brown’s government made the decision after discussions between Libya and BP over a multi-million-pound oil exploration
deal had hit difficulties. These were resolved soon afterwards.

As we find ourselves on or near the back side of the peak oil curve, we'll see more things like this and the Iraq invasion that are hard to reconcile with the "public good."
