To me if they wanted to show compassion and let him out of jail they could have kept him on house arrest in Scotland and allow family members to come visit. At least then it could have been more controlled and monitored.

However, if the Scottish government wanted to show real compassion they would have executed this guy back in 2001 when he was convicted of murdering 200+ people. Apparently a higher power had to step in and take of this guy for the human race.

So this guys gets to die in the warm embrace of his family while the 200+ people that he murdered spent their last moments screaming in a plunging jumbo jet, paralyzed with fear.

Good job Scotland. William Wallace is disavowing his scottish heritage.

Shouldnt of refered to it as a release on 'compassionate grounds'.

Should of gone with the 'we want him to get the hell out of our country' approach.

Kind of sad that over time people forget just how bad an attrocity really was.

I basically said the same thing. I just dropped my head and said, OMG here we go again.

Want to be compassionate? Put a bullet in his head... although it would be a waste of a perfectly good bullet. Sending him home to a hero's welcome in unacceptable.

You bet your a$$ there is vengeful hate. Personally I don't see why he is still alive. This worthless individual showed no compassion when he placed a bomb on Pan Am flight 103 and killed 270 innocent people. He should not be given the right to go home and die in peace with his family by his side. This is a luxury he did not give to his victims. Imagine the terror that these poor people experienced in the last moments of their lives, the amount of pain and tears shed by the family members of his victims. I would show no compassion to a person like this. I can't dream up a death painful enough for a peice of crap like this guy.

I'm also of the belief that if you kill a single person in cold blood, you too, should be put to death. All this talk about giving someone a second is crap, that person did not give his victims a second chance!

Rant off!
