R/C Pilot
Well I fly R/C Airplanes about three times a week. I fly mostly Aerobatic and mostly deal with IMAC competition. (Similar to IAC Competition) I have a 40% Scale Yak 54 and a 32% Scale Yak 55. Also a 42% Extra 260 and a 33% Sukhoi. It is a awesome hobby to get into and I enjoy it every day that I do it!!!

Helicopter R/C's
I got hooked on R/C's about a year ago and fly mostly R/C helicopters. It is a great way to have some fun and boy does it keep the neuro-pathways sharp. A friend told me that by continually flying R/C's, his own sim PC checks were the best ever because the eye-hand coordination was so finely tuned.
Besides, it's fun to "patrol" the neighborhood looking for cats and small animals to go after.
Have fun !!

I fly mainly R/C Helicopters nitros and electrics, and some gassers. Helicopters are quite challenging but they are a blast!
Any one interested in getting into helicopters let me know, I have been flying R/C for about 25 years now and love to share info and help others

I bought the ParkZone Super Cub and managed to crash it a dozen times trying to take off and land, repaired it every time. I'll get an RC sim and practice on that 'till I'm proficient to get a real trainer. It's a cool hobby to do, even just as a spectator.

I want to get the kids into RC and have been looking at real flight G5, does anyone have experience with that product?
To me it looks like they could move up the learning curve during the winter flying the sim, then have a fighting chance at flying a real RC in the spring.
Would love to hear any comments

Real Flight G5 is a great sim. I think it is one of the best ideas in learning to fly r/c. I used to run a hobby shop and sold several different sims. RF G5 is the best one. I have flown R/C for a while and the sim is a great buy. You can crash a thousand times and just hit the reset button and your flying again. It is a great precursor to actual real r/c flying. I got into helicopters about four years ago and the sim was a very valuable tool. I also use it to practice a lot as well. The software is great and it is very realistic.
I highly recomend it, but more so look into some R/C clubs in your area to get guidance when you plan to fly the real thing. You can get information on R/C clubs in your area from the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). AMA is a great organization that represents model aviation ( much like the EAA is for general aviation).
If you have any questions about r/c feel free to ask me anytime, it is a great hobby and a lot of fun. I started when I was 14 and still hooked.
