What logbook software should I buy?

APC also has one for download: http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/r...061229169.html

For cost nothing beats OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite or whatever spreadsheet program you have. Otherwise Logbook Pro if you are on a PC, Logten Pro if you are on a Mac. I used Logbook Pro for a few years and recently switched to Logten Pro. Both have their pluses and minus' and both are worth the price in my opinion.

Thanks very much for the responses. I have an evaluation copy of logbook pro right now - it seems pretty good to use. When you enter an aircraft type do you need to enter the type in a specific format (example CE172 vs C-172 etc...)?

I bought Logbook pro and thought it was a waste of money. I ended up using excel instead. It was much more flexible and I was able to modify it as I needed. A huge benefit when applying to many different airlines that want your hours in a certain way, expecially when converting from military to civilian.

Logbook Pro I think has the steepest learning curve of them all (lots of boring videos to watch though), but it is definitely the more powerful of the electronic logbooks. It doesn't matter what you put in the aircraft field in Logbook Pro but in Logten Pro if you enter it in the correct four letter ATC code, not type code (eg. C172, CRJ7, CRJ9, DH8D, etc), it will fill in all the aircraft information for you.
