Help please
Hi all and thanks for letting me join your forum
There is only one reason i have joined it and it is because i need help with finding the name of a type of plane as I'd like to find a replica one to give to my husband but I do not understand and have no knowledge of planes so I am hoping you can help me.
It is the silver plane that is usually advertised by John Travolta in the breitling watch advert. Does anyone know the name of that plane so i can try and google it to see if anyone does the small replica?
Many thanks to you all and hope you have a nice day,
Carolina

Depends on which ad you're talking about. The one with the side view of the airplane behind him is a North American P-51 Mustang. The one with the contra-rotating propeller (head on view) looks like a late model Griffon powered Spifire, but I'm not sure. Send him an e-mail, I'll bet he would be glad to tell you.

I think the one with the counter rotating props is raced at Reno before right? Mabye the Reno airrace website will have some info on it. There is a section if my memory serves me correct that lists all the regulars and the planes they fly every year during the races. Hope that helps

are you talking about this ad?
then that's a North American P51 Mustang (WWI fighter)
highly modified to be raced at the Reno air races called "Precious Metal"
Cheers
