Default Letterman's FA Joke

I didn't see it myself, but read today that he joked something about "slutty flight attendant" look? After reading the numerous posts here, no reasonable person would use that adjective when describing flight attendants. Right?

I hadn't thought about it from the FA perspective. Have any FA unions/associations weighed in on this?

The joke was about Gov. Palin. I will be impressed if you can get 10 posts in this thread without having to lock it.

On a related item. Conan's numbers are going up.

Conan O'Brien's ratings rise, dominates in demo; Letterman apologizes to Palin (video)--The Live Feed

Serious response: Its all just a publicity thing. Letterman needs news because everyone is focused on Conan. Tonight Show has always been the top dog over Late Show ever since Hugh Grant went on and talked about his little 'incident'...as for Palin, in order for a run in 2012 she has to keep her face present in whatever form. There was a GOP dinner a couple days back where she was swaped for Newt as the keynote speaker because she couldnt make it. She ended up making it, they stuck with Newt, but she sat through the dinner anyhow.

Original thought: Id take a slutty FA Palin over a slutty FA Biden.

I stopped watching Letterman many years ago. It's obvious he has a political agenda. He is a bitter American (except for the guns and religion). Not too mention Paul Shaffer belongs on the logo channel.

Whats the logo channel?

Well he also made a joke about Palin's daughter ... unknowingly it was the 14-year old that was with her at the time.

I'm with you guys, Letterman's trying to get attention.

No doubt. As a Hollywood agent once remarked: "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
Another agent, on hearing that Elvis had died, exclaimed: "Good career move!"

Lettermans style is old and played out. There's nothing new on the show and the whole Paul Schaffer as his gimp making periodic smiles is just too difficult to watch.

The only friends of mine that watch him were those who've been watching him for ages. Cant say I know anyone who just started to tune to him in the last decade. Plenty of folks I know do follow Conan and Jay, though. All the other stuff after both of those guys in the late evenings is just trash.

Dave apologised today. It will be on tonight as his show taped late afternoon. It sounded sincere enough for me to let it go. Regardless of motives or how you feel about him, he did the right thing in the end. The story is on Drudge.

Just like Jane Fonda apologizing for here actions in Vietnam. She only did it after the military refused to help with a movie she was seeking a leading roll in.

No way Letterman apologized because he wanted to. If that was the case he would have done it right the first time. There has to be something in it for him.
