The only two time I used the grass runway there! One for winds and one for repaving of the other runway.

Additionally, we are investigating whether the aircraft you flew was in compliance with CFR 14 91.205 Required Equipment.

Your cooperation in this investigation is appreciated.

Default 4A7 Tara Field

Bob McSwiggen, DE; C152; May 2004.

Tara Field is south of Atlanta about ten miles located by the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where a lot of NASCAR activity takes place. It is fairly common for small airports to be colocated with speedways, a curious phenomenon. I also got my instrument ticket with Bob McSwiggen a few months later. I do not know a lot about him except that he had a classic Convair and was a very experienced & respected elder pilot. The traffic pattern at Tara is directly over the Motor Speedway, so it is fun flying there in a Piper Cub which is what I did with former Delta CAP & Air Force veteran Bob Heath. Credit to Airliners.net for the picture.
