Fed Up Air Travelers

Fed Up Air Travelers
From MSNBC:
We pray to escape the middle row. We pay extra for a cranny of bonus leg room. And we pine for an upgrade to the highest of all Promised Lands — first class.
But nearly eight years into this shoe-shedding, Ziploc-toting, knee-hugging, $6 snack box-munching culture we call air travel, the seat that U.S. passengers may need most is a shrink’s couch.
What in the name of Chuck Lindbergh have we become? Chronic flyers, in large part, have devolved into kowtowed teeth-clenchers who are often too scared or too tired to squawk about poor treatment, who dutifully remove their belts, watches, jewelry, keys, coats and laptops while flashing a big old grin, and who are — come touch down — just happy to get there.

Things are not what they used to be, but people like to complain. I never complain about air service anymore after coming back from overseas (military) and having to load my own luggage and show up at the terminal 12-16 ours ahead of time to make sure I got home. The air traveler doesn't know how good they have it. Sure, they are paying for the flight, but it's still a luxury to be able to travel the way we do, it's just become so common place that they don't realize it.

We pray to escape the middle row...we pine for an upgrade...
We pray and we pine
We beef and we whine
The line is too long
The agent is wrong
They pack us all in
No room in the bin
The seats are too small
The snacks made last fall
The cabin's too cold
The magazines old
The noise is a curse
The smell even worse
And worst is the thought
That we ourselves bought
This nightmare in air
To get a cheap fare

If you're mad about delays, food, etc, put your money where your mouth is and take the damn bus.
I like what Louie CK said a few weeks ago. "ITS A THIRTY MINUTE DELAY FOR A SEAT THAT MAGICALLY FLOATS THROUGH THE AIR!!!"

You want Wal-Mart prices, you get Wal-Mart service.
People can *****, moan and complain all they want but they'll fly on that airline again because it was $10 cheaper than the rest.
I love it. You can fly across the country for less than you can drive (not to mention the two days lost doing such a drive) and it's still not good enough.

What about the many business travelers who DO pay for a service and get Sh*t on by the airlines? Are you all saying this doesn't happen? Do the airlines only treat the guy who purchased the cheapest fare like garbage? I don't think so. I have seen many times in my career where a business traveler in a high end international seat is not treated well by US and international airlines alike. There will always be the cheap traveler and some airline will service them. However, not many airlines these days seem to know how the business traveler that just paid $9,000 for a RT international ticket should be treated.
If the airline treats the pilots poorly, why would they do anything more for a business traveler? Answer - They don't and they should. In both cases.
