3000' x 60' clay/dirt strip in a C-130E Hercules....at about 140,000 pounds...

I have landed on a highway in Saudi Arabi.... the paved surface was 38' wide they graded the edges just in case..... oh yea...same Herky bird!!!

may not be the shortest but it may be the most narrow:

AirNav: 7D5 - Priebe Airport

18ft wide although it was in a cub plenty of room to spare....

YouTube - Short Landing and Take-off Piper Cub

Not a field, but I'd say these guys need about 50 feet

the sectional says 1500' for 9VG9, but i'm skeptical. either way it's one way in and out - good fun. another one i used all the time with my champ says 2000' and that's a load of $%!#! wouldn't you think the sectionals would err on the side of safety? maybe they just don't care to be as accurate for private strips...

Man, you guys put me to shame. I live on a 2200' grass strip.. although with a mooney on a hot day and full tanks, it sure does get short on approach...

Back in 90/91 there were several airports we went to under 2000, one was like 1200 feet around the Bethel AK area. Good times.
