Ammo!

I couldn't answer your question, so I turned to an old friend and advisor on all things military, intelligence and armaments. I can't divulge my sources of course, but this man, who we'll call "Bob" seems to have the answer!
"The recent extreme spikes in the price of ammo and supply shortages have come from the high number of sightings of the chubracabra in this country. There can be no doubt of this. I expect the supply shortages to ease as the chubracabra migrate to the higher elevations of their traditional grazing grounds in the spring."
When pressed further he admitted: "The very active agricultural supply markets in Mexico may be having some effect, but primarily they have only been a factor in the machete and chain saw markets" He opined further:"I can feel your reader's pain, I myself am down to my last 5,000 rounds of 9mm, and have had trouble with my usual source-those guys wearing the powder blue berets."

I think it's just due to the wide popularity of 9mm, and the fact that a lot of people are stocking up on ammo in case federal taxes for ammunition increase. I was at a sporting goods shop a few days ago and said that if the tax increase passes, it will be a 500% increase. A box worth $20 will now be $100.

First of all yes I did fly with a chubracabra last week and second of all. You are much wiser than me with the 5000 rounds. Anyway, I wish I could tax our goverment everytime I see Ms. Pelosi and BHO on tv.

The walmarts down here in FL are always sold out 30 min after they get a shipment, many find their answers in reloading... however I'm not sure i would trust self-defense to a reload... perhaps just the range or so. Some gun shops have an unrealistic mark-up on their ammo, for example I was just going to purchase some Hornady TAP .308, and they wanted like $42/box 20.... a little insane... if you can find it the internet is the best place.

-privi partizan has some decent stuff (so I've heard) from midway at $14/box 50 ... not bad but they're backed up a little
