After a few glasses of arak at the Hilton, "Bob" showed me a couple of very disturbing photos. He claimed the Nuns had shown a sudden interest in hunting gophers and other outdoorsey things and that the teenage girl with the BREN suddenly wanted to hunt wild Stag in the Scottish highlands. This was all strictly "off the record" though. He offered no explanation of the tie in with various wild animal sightings and their effect on the local population.

Went looking for .45 ACP rounds out in good ole' Portland Oregon the other day and 3 stores later I still didn't have any.
The first store (VERY large sporting goods store) had 3 boxes of pistol ammo left. 1 box .40 gold dot and 2 boxes of .38 special. Said people were buying like it was the end of the world. In 10 years he had never seen it as bad as it is now.
Just goes to show that you should load your own.

"Veronica Foster (popularly known as "Ronnie, the Bren Gun Girl") was the Canadian equivalent of the American cultural icon Rosie the Riveter, representing nearly one million Canadian women who worked in the manufacturing plants that produced munitions and materiel during World War II. Foster worked for John Inglis Co. Ltd producing Bren light machine guns on a production line on Strachan Avenue in Toronto, Ontario.
She became popular after a series of propaganda posters were produced; most images featured her working for the war effort, but others depicted more casual settings like Foster dancing the jitterbug or attending a dinner party."

Some sectors of the market have done very well during this "financial crisis". S&W and Ruger are up about 75% and 100% respectively, so I guess they might be termed "defensive" stocks.

I'm a man of simple tastes. If I had a Class III license (and a job) I'd just want a Lewis gun or an MP38. There's a dealer north of DFW, I think his last Lewis went for 25k and the MP38/40s tend to run around 20.
S&W has a way to go to get near their high of 40 a couple of years back.
