Say What Miami Center???
Today while descending into south Florida (about 65 miles north of Fort Myers), there was someone talking on Miami Center frequency. The guy was saying all sorts of dirty jokes, hate speech, and explectives. Miami Center was unaware. This went on for like 5 minutes. Did anyone else hear this guy?
I thought perhaps it was from an aircraft that was bleeding over. But I just can't believe a pilot would say such things on the radio.

I wonder if there's any way for you to report this? The offending party should have his/her radio operator license revoked at a minimum. Hopefully he'll be charged with a fairly serious crime.

I'm not an avionics guy, but could it have been some kind of bleed-over from a faulty and/or too powerful of a transmitter on the ground? Or perhaps a fault in the aircraft's radio(s)?
In the Beavers in Juneau we had marine VHF's so we could talk to boats, and sometimes we'd hear the local taxi drivers clear as a bell pretty far from town on 'em.
When I was a kid listening to the FM radio in my room in Virginia could occasionally hear bits of aircraft transmission from AC operating near Dulles. No idea why though.

I think it was a hand held. It's more common than many think, and the behavior is often repeated (like this laser business). Pretty stupid, but the kind of people who do this aren't related to Einstein. If you report it FCC will try to catch the perp, and if he / she repeats they've got a good chance. They've nabbed people before.
