Zacarias Moussaoui's new home
A few facts on Zacarias Moussaoui's new home:
ADX is short for The United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum
The ADX is one of four federal prisons in Florence, Colorado
Florence donated the land for the prisons to the US government in 1990
ADX employs a staff of 347 people
ADX contains beds for 490 inmates
ADX currently houses 404 inmates
Cells range from 77 to 87 square feet in size
Each cell contains a bed, shower, sink, toilet, metal mirror, and television/radio
ADX was constructed in 1994 for $60 million
ADX has had no escapes or serious attempts to escape
ADX houses less than one-third of one percent of the federal inmate population
Only five percent of ADX inmates enter directly from their court sentencing
95 percent of ADX's inmates are transferred there from another prison
Inmates are divided into: General population, High Security unit, & Control Unit
The control unit holds the most dangerous and disruptive inmates
All outgoing and incoming mail as well as telephone calls are monitored
Immediate family members, attorneys and boy or girlfriends may visit
Educational and recreational programs are played on inmates' televisions

In a few years he may wish he had got the death penalty. Personally, I think he got the harsher of the two sentences. No Moussaoui, you did not win anything but a well deserved life of misery and pain. Enjoy!

That dude better be looking over his shoulder every second.

I'm with you all, he got the worse of the two punishments. He would have died a martyr had we executed him.
Give him his TV, he'll still have no physical contact with any human beings the rest of his life. His days will tick by awfully slow.

The only thing that bothers me about this verdict is that he's being sent to the supermax- I'd much rather that the guy get shipped off to general population in one of the rougher federal prisons, where he could spend a few years learning to hold belt-loops and answer to his new name (my vote is for "Peaches") while everyone else forgets about him... Then somebody could oh-so-quietly do him in. Seems a hell of a lot more appropriate that he go that way rather than in the klieg-lit needle coma he so obviously wanted.
In a perfect world, they'd put him in the military lockup at Leavenworth... That'd be one of the all-time great weeks in the history of dead-pool gambling...

Oh, he might have some physical contact, just not the kind he had in mind. He better not drop the soap... the low-life better invest in some soap-on-a-rope.

If he got the "Death" penalty, he would suddenly become a "martyr" and create 7000 more wanna be terrorists just like him.

Is it just me or did you expect something more medieval from a prison with the name "SuperMax"?

HSDL,
Thank your local chapter of the ACLU, and Amnesty International for that. We sure don't want to violate anyones civil rights (give me a break, what about the thousands that were killed on 9-11, he sure didn't mind plotting to violate theirs). But, I couldn't agree with you more.
