Despite all the concern, things are good in his life and he is doing well. He will be vacationing quite a bit this summer and plans a week or two in Cozumel in September. He told me to tell the posse that although they may not know he is around, he is closely watching the goings-on and expects the posse standards upheld. If poppa2 assumes posse pimp, calcapt expects to remain as honorary board member. After all, he was the founding pimp. Don't be surprised to see him resurface from time to time if for no other reason to let you all know he is alive and well. He just walked in the door...... gotta run! He has been out with his other posse - took his grandkids out for ice cream!

This thread has become a club of sorts, with many interesting characters. Speaking of which, where is Crashman? And I do believe that Slice and Falcon may have eloped, as they are strangely silent. What do you think Skye?
And I would direct you to Vagadonds brainchild, Joke du Jour, where you will find elements of entertaining debauchery.
And Animals and Vagabond, how is flight training? Dont let anyone get you down about it. As Chuck Yeager once said, there is really no such thing as a natural pilot.Strong motivation and stubborn refusal for defeat,( Not to mention an inflated ego hehe!)

Thanks for the info about Stinson Beach! I very much look forward to the oral regarding it...or was it an oral ON it? Please advise.
I will try and find pictures of a Stinson Jr. - they are a big antique airplane that I was fortunate enough to get a couple hours in. They were built in the early thirties.
Took my first step back to flying yesterday. Found a school that has a wide range of airplanes to fly including a Super Cub. I haven't flown in about 12 years (ever since I lost my hearing). I stayed away simply because I didn't want to rekindle my desire to fly but be bound to non-controlled airpoprts, etc (which deaf people with Pilot licenses are bound to). With my implants, and the prospect of a non-restricted medical, I am quite excited. SO...next week is the big week and i will start flying again. I am somewhat nervous about how it will be after the lay-off. Also, i tend to be a perfectionist and hard on myself. It will be crushing if I am not as good at it as I was a long time ago. Has anyone taken a long lay-off from flying and then re-started? How long did it take to feel comfortable again?
I will let you guys know how it goes - my membership (or potential membership) in the posse is dependent upon me flying again simply because this is a forum for ladies who like pilots.

Now, now Poppa. Mzkat is discriminating. She is just open and honest about her appreciation of cute pilots. I too, usually take a second look as I transit various terminals. One must entertain theirself while enduring delays and long waits in the terminal. Nothing wrong with that!... Nothing wrong with showing a little appreciation for those fine folks who safely deliver us to wherever it is that we're going.

Thanks for the welcome, Cass. I feel like I've known you people forever! You are correct, this thread is loaded with "characters", which is why I like it so much !! Too bad you can't make AC. Just curious--have any members of the posse actually met?? I thought I saw something in the thread a few weeks back talking about a get-together in Vegas in August. Is that really happening--and if it is--when?? Inquiring "wild" minds want to know!!!

You are welcome Miss Wild....by the way, I think they look kind of cute in those uniforms as well, even if they hate to wear them... One could always offer to assist in the removal of them. Did I just say that?..

Sky too, wonders if Slice and Falcon hooked up and flew off into the sunset together. For all parties involved, it would only be fair to hold the summit somewhere in the center of the country, but can we please just not make it DFW?

Well, ground school was 8:30 am to 5:30 pm today. In many ways, it's tougher than the first year of law school! Discussed stalls and spins today. I look forward to getting myself into a flat spin. hee hee. Then we talked about G forces. Very interesting concept and one I vow to never experience if possible, at least not voluntarily. But my favorite was reading charts. So, Cass, no inflated ego here. Not yet.
Welcome Wild. The posse is like being in the 8th grade again, but more sophisticated and elegant. In other words, you will have a great time! And we are in good Hands. Very good Hands.
SkyGirl, your idea is the best! No uniform has lasted long with me around.
