That would have been fun to watch..LOL...so what was it?

I also had a Vega GT, but that is another story!

My ex had a Vega GT in med school. The beloved "Vegamatic" we called it. It finally blew up and we put it to rest.

Perspective again, Calcapt. The 50 is neither big nor bad. A tad less than 40K MTOW...so big may be overstating. Bad? Easier to fly than the average Kingair. 48 degree flaps make the Vap very Kingairish, and a V1 cut is so docile, you'd wonder why it wasn't certified to centerline thrust specs. Other than the Dassault-standard goofy nose gear scissors contraption, it offers no mystery or bad handling qualities to even a semi-novice pilot. Nice, little airplane is a much accurate moniker for this fine bird. Now, if Mr. 30+ Cool Aviator strolls out to his V-tail...all bets are off.

Geez...don't know where you get your info Buddy! What is it you fly again exactly???? Even my seasoned mentors, ex airline captains, have told me that the 50EX is one of the most complex aircraft they've ever flown! How many hours do you have in a 50 or 900 EX???????????

Thanks Charlie!
Well, Animal...for a non-pilot, you got the V-tail guy nailed!
But that's not what it was.
Ready????

You have a good picture of it....
I walked immediately over to the Sundowner-my jaw hanging open, exclaiming in my best Jenny McCarthy dumb blonde voice (though I'm not blonde...works for me), 'Oh my Gosh, is this really YOUR jet?'.
He looked a bit sheepish, this guy with 3 bars so proudly up on his shoulders, when he said, uh, no, mine is over here...then walks me over to display proudly...lo and behold...a gorgeous 50!!! I stood just dumbfounded that my boss had replaced me so suddenly...

Default Did I just get fired????

As I stared at this beautiful bird, I then asked Mr. Incredible what the 3 bars on his shoulder meant...to wit he replied, "Oh, well, they really should be 4, but since my boss says he owns the plane, he says he is the only main captain, so I can only wear 3- but since they are gold and not silver, that means I am a co-captain, if they were silver then I would only be a flight officer, which is not really a pilot, more like a helper.
Now, throughout the conversation, Falcon Angel, mind you, was asking lots of silly questions to find out if he was really that dumb, or if he thought Iwas that dumb...conclusion...he was a pretty bright fellow...so I guess he is just a real player and I'm a good actress.
Wanna know what I did next????

They are what I fly, FG. Between them, about 1500. I'll look for you in Dallas (FSI), and you can mentor me on the complexities of at least, or more particularly, the 50EX. Honestly, if you or your ex-airline captains really find this refined bird that complex...I'm . Handling, systems, operational capabilities are each simple, yet solid. The EX is probably the best mid-sized corporate jet flying. You should thank your lucky stars to be in one...I do. BTW, you fly for TAG?

What did you do next?

Falcon Girl, about the only thing I can fly is by the seat of my pants... I'd be honored to take a look at the complexities of your aircraft, as well as a spin in it. Now if you're interested in taking a visit to innerspace, I can be the guide there...
