Default I fly planes, not jump out of them

So I took a friend to a drop zone to go skydiving for their birthday, even with being called all sorts of names by my friend I wasn't about to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Do any of you have the skydiving bug?

Ill respond before this gets moved... I have done it once just to see what it was like and to check that off my to-do list. If it wasn't so expensive I would do it more, but for the time being, once was enough.

this should probably be in Hanger talk, but I've flown for a DZ and jumped there myself. After seeing how everything works and getting to know the tandem instructors I felt safe. I've seen them have to cut away on a tandem their 1st time in the 3 years of the DZ being open and it really wasn't a big deal. They've got a very experienced faa licensed rigger doing all the packing. It's a good time, I've done it twice and pulled the chute the second time.

About 90 jumps here. I flew skydivers for about 3 seasons and loved the atmosphere at the DZ.

I flew for a DZ for 2 years before going to the regional airline prison. Our DZ rules stipulated I had to wear a chute, but never jumped and don't want to. I'll fly the airplane, but will only jump if it saves my life.

I have thought about it, but I just don't want to pick up another expensive addition.

Flying for a DZ was probably the most fun I've had getting paid to fly. I never got the cojones to make a jump, and in retrospect I regret it a little.

I met & watched a group of powered-parachute guys last weekend.... I think that might be my next conquest in aviation!

1. If its a jump plane it may not be a "perfectly good airplane"
2. Try a tandem jump. Its pretty intense during the freefall.

I wore a chute every day teaching acro and my philosophy was that if god wants me to skydive he will tear the wings or stabilizer off this plane.
