wow...chilling.... I hate to speculate.... but what exactly happened? I'm not familiar with the T-2 charactersitics... full power, exceeded critical AOA, almost a spin? maybe comp stall right engine?

That would have been a student naval aviator doing one of his first few carrier landings, probably on the USS Lexington or Forrestal.


That kind of thing was more likely operator error than anything else.

U.S.S. Lexington. 1989 during carrier quals in the Gulf of Mexico. Pilot was killed along with three sailors and a civilian on the flight deck. Rest in Peace.
