Being a girl doesn't seem to hurt either. Cops let most chicks go... unless it is a chick cop. They never let anybody go... think that they got to prove themselves. My wife gets pulled over more then most, but never gets a ticket. If I were a cop, I would only give tickets to cute girls. Although I like them, they know that they can always get off in life with their looks. Give the big ol gal a break, she already has it hard in life. And I would only ticket rice burnners with foldgers coffie cans for mufflers. Give the good ol boys with the V8 a break. At least they are patriotic and buy detroit! Having a trooper buddy to drink a beer with is a good idea. If tickets were about "safty" they would get the grannys off the road that are holding me aginst my will!

And don't live anywhere with photo radar or photo anything. Thats just not playing fair... like fishing with dinamite. Its not a true sportsman. The hunter should be there when he snares his prey! And if you use a radar detector, dont have it visiable. That is like being a fish in the water weeds... cops hate thoes types. And if you get pulled over, hide that thing, and don't leave the power coard in the cigerate lighter... that makes the cop laugh an evil laugh.

If your radar dector goes off because you get hit with the lasar, just pull over, your done, game over. He was diffently looking at YOU!

If you think that the cops are your friend and here to help, then I am sure that you also think that the FAA is here to help... or you were a cop in your former life. There are alot more important things going on in this town that could use the cops attention besides running the radar. Like finding out who keeps putting liquid Tied in the town square fountian. Although I get a smile on my face to see it bubbling over on to the main drag, as a tax payer, I know thats going to cost me more money. And go get after the gang wanto be members. Don't need that in my town. Or go after the guy beating his wife. Or the punks pushing drugs in my school.

It is easyer to pull over the law abiding citizen with the kid in the back who is doing eight miles over the speed limit acording to your inital school n backed up gest a mation that happen to co inside with your radar gun that was calibrated last week with the tunning fork that has been bouncing around in your trunk for the last 10 months.

There are good cops and thoes just collecting the pay check... just like pilots.

Mordi, I've been around the block.

Good cops, bad cops, big cops, little cops, blue cops, brown cops, go cops go. Maybe that helps draw a picture.

I've gotten tickets I deserved and ones I didn't- but when you drive 30,000 to 50,000 miles a year; you take your chances.

Get pulled over- be polite and honest. Cops (most anyway) aren't stupid. If you don't yank their chain you might get a break. I've made a few laugh and got off with a warning.

Yes, be nice to the guy. Just like you would to the guy doing the check ride. He has already made his mind up 80% befor he got to your car. Being rude would just seal the deal. But don't admite to speeding. He just writes that in his notes section... which will come out if you take it to court.

The best advice is knowlege about the system and to learn as much as you can. Driving slow is not going to keep you from getting a ticket. You only have to hit your break lights at the wrong time as he passed you for him to think that you were the speed racer doing 90 on his radar. Or the front of your car dives down when he hit the instant on... even though you only hit a dip in the road. A cop would have you think that his word is final, but that fine you are paying is your day in court. Take it. Might as well. Your ticket will not get any worse, but you might get it reduced or droped by being respectful to the court.

BTW, thanks to all the guys tha let me go with just a warning when I was delivering pizzas.

I would also let most people go who drove com for a living. I might scare them a little as a lesson, but I know they are just trying to put food on the table.
