Default Working Christmas-- techniques to minimize family disruption

I'm working Christmas more than likely this year again, and am trying to think of ways to have gift opening, dinner, etc. on an earlier day or something. Last year was a disaster, my family hates my job for keeping me away over Christmas.

What do you all do to minimize the disruption?

Thanks!

RB

If you have a long layover, maybe your family can join you? Late XMas Eve and XMas day are usually light loads. Or if your layover is in a nice town, you can "pre-position" the family to await your arrival.

Most folks usually just move XMas a day or two...if it's your immediate family with just little kids, they will never know the difference.
