If you think that I'm going to respond in an obsequious manner and accept that bull***t you just spouted, your sorely mistaken. Attitudes such as yours are based upon the idiotic mindset of "because of my ilk/phenotype I am right."
In terms of the NE values bringing freedom and opportunity to all...AU Contraire MON Frere. Just ask those not of NE heritage and I guarantee you you will get a different answer. Let's not even start to "chum" the water on that one.
As far as those "other cultures"....the ancient Egyptian & Chinese civilizations were light years ahead of NE tribes in terms of written languages, art, architecture, music, government, military strategy, etc. etc. etc.
Dare the truth be told according to you. Please....you got me bent!

Your the one choosing to compare cultures and values and find the traditional ones lacking not I. You are the judgemental Arse not I. Give me one example of the culture denying women opportunity in the US today. No fair pointing out that the women in Obama office make .78 to 1, because I will point out they make 1.13 to one in Mcain's office.
Not to make this political but if your ASSumptions were correct the traditional values party would be rejecting Palin instead sporting Mcain/Palin stickers and yardsigns.

Led Zep, I have a JD and I use a word like this! So far, none of my Purple friends has presented evidence that I am wrong.

And what did the ancient egyptian do to end slavery? Your idea of equal opportunity for women is giving them 10 minutes off in the rice paddies to have a kid before they get back to work. Great.

As far as what the ancient Egyptian culture(s) or its people did to end slavery is not the topic here.
I'm not comparing values of different cultures. I merely stated my own interpretation of a study that I believe is biased. Just like you have stated your own opinion. As the ole saying goes, "To one the wind is hot; to one the wind is cold. What is the nature of the wind'?
As far as women in McCains camp making 1.13, what are the "traditional valued" men making? Hmmmmm? I didn't see that amount listed in your post.
Your last paragraph is not true. The traditional values party, as you call it, has its own factions as well. The "loyal opposition" will help circle the wagons when they feel that their way of life is being threatened or is not being accepted by those whom the wish to influence.

At any rate, my perspective is taken from the fact that some men of Northern European descent here in America have been taught and/or raised to believe that a woman's place is in the home. Women's Sufferage, WWI & WWII allowed these women access to the workplace. They earned comparable wages, but , when the "boys came home" these women were displaced back to their traditional roles. This mindset has perpetuated itself to this very day. Hence the glass ceiling theory.

Unlike in Africa where a woman is the next closest thing to a slave who is to be beaten regularly to keep her in line. (And before you start whining… I’ve lived there, have you?)

MiserDD:
When you look at the context in which traditional and egalitarian are used, my interpretation is based upon my experiences and the social enviroment(s) I've lived in.
I beg to differ. You have implied a universal quantifier with the intent of suggesting that women in general in Africa are treated like slaves and beaten to stay in line. That's misleading.
No. I have not lived there. I am an American.
...and yes, I do know the history of my people here in America and of some civilizations and nations in Africa.

OK. Last post for me on this thread because its become a "bridge to nowhere" .
What I said in post #5 is that SOME men of NE descent......
China...with a GDP that out paces the USA's...their growing @ 9%. As far as Egypt, it plays a distinctive role in maintaining peace in the Middle East initiatives.
