I live near Peachtree City Georgia so I see guys at car washes, McDonald's, DECU, Ryan's Steak House, gun stores, and the gym on a daily basis. I am guilty of poking around the beer cave a time or two after a trip, but I had on the leather jacket with all insignia removed.

I've worn mine plenty of places... grocery, walgreens... you know the normal places people stop on their way to or from work.
Rumor around AWAC is that one of our own FO's got married in his uniform... now that's lame!

If I need gas I'll stop for gas, same with food.
But there are always clowns who go out to eat at resteruants (off airport, etc, etc). There was one guy at mesa who was caught at Vons in uniform...on his day off Maybe he heard it was a good place to meet single women...

In Louisville, Waffle House used to be quite the hot spot during the sort back in the 80's.
I went to a local restaurant there with my wife and a van load of pilots walked in with their uniforms on. They were somewhat deflated when an older lady asked the waitress "What are all these fireman doing here?'
Another time outside of Travis AFB, I stopped into Dunkin' Donuts and a guy ripped into me for being a disgrace to my uniform. I think he was drunk. I worked for Evergreen and lived in Vacaville at the time.
