Good news. The saudis know better than unnecessarily encourage the development of alternative energy.
And for those producers who want to use oil supply as a political tool...perhaps they should remember that the biggest oil consumers also have the world's largest and most capable military forces, and all posses nuclear weapons

I'm not sure that this is an entirely good thing in the long run.... not trying to rain on anyone's parade.... just my opinion.... without Saudi influence, and players like Venezuela and Iran controlling OPEC, perhaps bringing several new oil-rich countries to the game... this might not be such a good thing for the future of US oil.... it is a relief for now... hopefully we can make the energy swtich....
just imagine if oil prices went over to the Euro.....it may be a long shot but it still could happen if OPEC becomes stronger without Saudi influence... although the Euro is dropping with the dollar it may not be for so long...
I just think we should be cautious about what's happening...
