Default Reindeer

Did quite a few Anchorage layovers in 2002/2003. Hotel recommended a little restaurant down the street; the place where they start the Iditorod race.

Nice little place; every item for breakfast had reindeer sausage. Waitress comes up, asks what I want. I'm thinking she's going to mentally condemn me for eating reindeer---I had seen them in people's yards as pets the day before.

I ask her: "What's reindeer sausage like?"

She: "It's delicious--I just had some an hour ago!"

Good enough endorsement for me. She was right.

A mooseburger served with a cold glass of Moose Drool sure would hit the spot right now.

Those from the northern rockies know what I'm talking about.

You can take most any meat, mix it with some fat, grind it up, slap it into a round shape, toss it on a grill. till about medium, add bacon and cheese. AND IT WILL TASTE GOOD.

God i love burgers

Never had it ground up but there is a great little Australian spot in downtown Stuttgart where they serve a couple different Kangaroo dishes. One was a spicy selection with big cubes of skewered kangaroon meat. Very Tasty.

No, but off the top of my head I have had:

Ostrich(sp)
Emu
Bear
Bison
Beef
Deer
Elk

And they all tasted different, but all were dang good.
