I did read some of the posts but I got lost in the translation. Like what I said I am new to photography, all I know is to point and shoot for now. I wanted to ask his preference that's all.

Thanks for the heads up with posting links of photos but I could not decide if should post it here or in the photo sections. Besides it's nothing special, just random shots of Brooklyn bridge. When I learn more, maybe I could posts more interesting arguments

If you're just into the point and shoot look at the Olympus Waterproof Crushproof cameras. They take great pictures and after destroying 3 digital cameras I finally bought one more robust.

Anyone ever buy refurbed cameras/lenses? I'm looking at one from Adorama and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them?

Places like Adorma, & B&H are trustworthy places, you are good to go

Never bought refurbs myself, but I've rented lenses a few times to do specific shoots. Probably not too different as rental lenses are usually well used in appearance and action (but still optically acceptable).

As others have said, stick to B&H and Adorama and you should be fine.
