Thumbs up WALL E: Consider watching the movie

Please consider taking yourself, you and a friend, your spouse or your family to Disney's WALL E.

For about 100 minutes, I completely forgot about the economic cyclone our industry is in...

Awesome movie I just got back from seeing it. I've never been to a movie that got the whole audience to be absolutely silent until now.

Great movie! Saw it yesterday, and like SmoothOnTop said, took my mind completely off everything else!

Agreed, great movie.

Did Walle litter in space by tossing away the fire extinguisher?

I hear Disney, Dreamworks and other studios fly bombardier and gulfstream products.

That would be a sweet job.

Just got back from taking the kids to see the movie. Incredibly boring. Don't think that this is a fun, entertaining kid movie. It is not. It is an animated commentary on the effects of consumerism, automation, and the effects of of such a life taken to the extreme.

If you go you will subject yourself to over an hour of the following dialogue:

Robot: "Wall-e."
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Robot: "Wall-e."
Other robot: "Wall-e."
Other robot: "Eva."
Robot: "Eeeva?"
Other robot: "Eva."

Oh, then there's the long chase scene where this scintillating dialogue happens:

Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e!"
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e!"
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e?"
Other robot: "Wall-e!"
Other robot: "Wall-e!"
Other robot: "Wall-e."
Other robot: "Wall-e?"

I won't go on, 'cause I don't want to give the whole movie away.

The message is fine. Don't fall for over-consumerism, over-automation, over-consumption, and the effect that it can have on the world that we live in. But don't think for a minute that this is a fun family movie that will entertain you (or more importantly a five year old). I think that the audience sat in silence due to the fact that the movie was not fun or funny (as most Pixar movies are), and were probably bored out of their freaking skulls. I know for one that I was silent due to the fact that the movie bored me to sleep several times.

I'm averse to being preached at in movies, but I felt the movie was using a polluted earth more to further the story than to make a point. I'm as conservative and anti-Hollywood as they come, but I'd recommend this movie.

I go to ALOT of movies, and it's the best I've seen this year. If you can't walk away from this movie without a smile on your face...your inner child is officially dead.
