Passed ATP written in 5 days with a 96%

Oh, BS. You can get the JAA answer bank from any number of sources in just the UK alone. It just takes a little longer to memorize the answers since the tests are longer.
I instruct in a JAA integrated program....the students that I get have already passed their JAA ATPL exams...and guess what?
They don't know anything. They just memorized the answers and don't have a clue as to how apply them to their flying.
Hardly a reason to look down on us or anyone else.

Have you passed all 14 JAR exams?
The question bank has 17000 questions!
The UK CAA website currently shows an 80% pass rate.
Nobody takes all 14 exams at once because they are very demanding.
Where and what exam prep do you teach exactly?

Tell me if I understand the Sheppard Air website correctly. They sell software to study for the test, and then when you are ready you have to find a testing location at some local flight school? How long will they send you updates for (long enough to study for your next interview say in a year or two)?

Just to give you an example, after taking my JAA ATPL exams, I decided to go take the FAA ATP exam without even studying the GLEIM questions or answers, I came out of the test with a 93% ... easiest thing I have ever seen, and just think then I was a pilot with 250TT

He obviously hasn't .. what an ignorant answer on sqwkvfr's part. I would be more than happy to compare both tests, and how I have taken both tests.

Uh, I work the third largest FTO in the world....I instruct students who have done EXACTLY as I describe in prep for the JAA/CAA CPL skills test.
I see that you went to Oxford, Olympic....are you telling me that a LARGE portion of your ground school wasn't merely reviewing the questions?
Be careful before you answer because I know the truth.
Listen, I'm not saying that JAA is not tougher....it obviously is, I'm saying that preparing for the JAA exam is done exactly as the OP did, it just takes longer.

I could be wrong but I think you'll find that Olympic did the JAR exams prior to the question bank being released. That's only happened in the last 2-3 years.
Oh and the FAA ATP exam is a complete joke; I'm doing the study for the JAR exams at the moment and the only thing that is making it easier is the fact that I have a Mechanical Engineering degree and a strong instructing background.

Ok, I'm sorry I posted this thread. I intended to help some people out, not make this forum into a grade school reality show. Lighten up guys.

You are trying to tell me that all your students are idiots and just studied the 10,000+ questions and answers and passed! Common man ...
You need at least 6 months of FULL-TIME Ground School to take the 14 JAA ATPL exams correct? You are trying to tell us that in that 6 month period of JUST studying and NO flying, the students don't learn anything? Please...
Im sure there might be a group that doesn't study, but even those students pick something up in the ground school , unlike the FAA ATP where no prior ground school is needed. The MATH and PHYSICS I seen in the the JAR ATPL, equations and subjects like GENERAL NAVIGATION, will never be in the FAA ATP.
Yes, I went to OXFORD, Oxford has their own question bank where the Instructors give out to the students, this is true. But inorder to be ALLOWED to take the JAR exams, you need to pass with at least a 85% the IN HOUSE Exams which ARE NOT JAA ATPL questions but OLD CAA questions which are MUCH HARDER than the present JAA stuff. Don't make the grade, guess what? You repeat ground school!
Bottom Line, after taking both exams, after receiving both Licenses I must say that the FAA Ground work is a JOKE compared to the JAA system.
What I can say though is, FAA flying is MUCH MUCH better than the JAA system, as the FAA prepares you to become a PILOT while the JAA prepares you to become a BUTTON PUSHER. I value my FAA license much more than the JAA , but the ground stuff from the JAA blows the FAA out of the water, this is a fact.
Olympic.
