FF difference comparison between RJ/200/700 & SF340
Ex (Mu2)1978L model.
82gph X 6.8 X 1/270 X 1/11
Or Avg FF at cruise X 6.8 lbs/gal X 1/TAS X 1/seat capacity
Thanks

Hey guys I only have experience with barons and MU2-B36 so would really like to know what type FF you are talking about with RJ-200 and SF340's. Like to come up with a pounds/seat mile comparison. For instance for the Mu2 it was .1877 lbs/seat/mile for the baron it was .1728 lbs/seat/mile.

I am willing to bet some smart guys came up with the numbers and it is in the Props favor otherwise we would not be seeing the prop numbers we are seeing.

THIS GUY IS DRUNK ON THE KOOL-AID!!!!
ANVS? I counted once for an entire bid 67% of my flights for the entire 5 week bid ANVS was INOP/MEL.
SO they are maintence hogs but thats ok because when they do work 50% of the time its great? You have MANAGEMENT written all over you.

Besides that part of my post, any appreciation beyond that was towards the aircraft I fly. So I would say I am hardly even drinking the koolaid, but if you are extending a job offer, it does sound more lucrative than what I am doing.
I must not have had as much bad luck as you but I would have to agree the ANVS is frequently MEL'd. It is a system which is continually in use thereby requiring it to be replaced a lot.

Second...Mesaba was purchased by Pinnacle Corp and all of their jets are going over to the Pinnacle operating certificate. Colgan and Mesaba will be under the same operating certificate with Mesaba bringing Saabs and Colgan bringing Saabs and Dash 8s.
Its no so much that they are returning to an all turboprop fleet as Pinnacle Corp taking their CRJs and putting them on the Pinnacle operating cert.

I have to laugh at this one. I started flying in a BE-99. They told us that paxs wanted pressurization. So the commuters got SA-227 and BE1900. Then they said those were too small and we needed a bathroom and a flight attentant. So we got DHC-8, SF340 and ATR's. Then we were told that passengers wanted jets, so we got RJ's. Now that most airlines have RJ's what do passengers really want? A cheap ticket

Fuel prices are what drives interest in bladed aircraft. Airlines have to plan far in advance for what they expect. If they see sustained high oil prices they will move to bladed fleets as replacements. Historically oil has not remained high long enough to cause a massive shift.
