Default Better way to get paid? Very Interesting...

I was talking to a friend of my fiance, who works for royal carribean as a navigator, when asking how, and how much he was paid he said "by the foot". Which for him means, he'll get paid the ships length in meters, his raft is about 320 meters long so, yearly he makes around $320,000 plus annual increases and bonuses.Officers lower in rank make around 25% less, per rank class.

Apply this now to flying here are the stats for .
Amounts are yearly,$4 per meter:
CRJ
-100/200/400 C$108K/F$81K
-700 C$130K/F$97K
-900 C$144K/F$108K
ERJ
-135 C$104/F$78K
-145 C$116K/F$87K
-170 C$120K/F$90K
-190 C$144K/F$108K
-195 C$152K/F$114K

Okay, lets look at it another way....

The MS Freedom of the Sea is 338m in length and displaces 154,400 tonnes. An ERJ 145 is about 20 tonnes: 1/16th of the ship. ERJ "navigator" would earn about $20k

The Freedom accomidates 4300 pax or 86 times the ERJ: navigator pay $4K

Yeah, but what is the ship's time between say, two points covering a distance of 1000 nm..... Maybe we should multiply by that factor...
