Laptop suggestions

Vista is the best thing that could have happened to Mac sales. Mac has always made a good product but when Windows users are faced with such an onerous choice (Vista) its easy to switch to a new platform.
That said, I'm still running XP on both my laptop and work station. I keep my machines for around 18-24 months before upgrading and have about 8 months to go. If MS can't produce a reasonable replacement to Vista in that timeframe, I'm going to go with a Mac too.
However, if you're still looking for a PC machine, I've had excellent luck with the Dell outlet store. I'm typing this on a 12" screen D420 (business model) laptop that I bought as a scratch and dent for $799 LOADED and with a next day onsite service for 2 years.

Yes, stay away from vista. It is not compatible with anything other than '07 stuff. I got my current comp from www.ibuypower.com they use the best products to build their comps. I HIGHLY recommend them.
