Default Two months in a 172

I just got this months AOPA magazine. There is an article about two guys who set the record for the longest duration flight in history. I can't even imagine two months in the air. After a couple hours I'm ready to land.

"During the months of December 1958 and January and February 1959, two young men flew a mission-modified Cessna 172 around and around over the desert Southwest for 64 days, 22 hours, and 19 minutes."

You need to be a member to access the page. They also have a video.

The article said the record setting plane is hanging in the McCarran Airport. Next time you're in Vegas check it out.

I read about it some time ago. My first thought was that they should have done it in a multi. They'd step right into (the 1958 equivalent of) a CRJ.

Wow and I thought a 7 hour flight in a 172 was long.

Could have been worse. It could have been a two month instructional flight with a pre-solo student.
