I keep seeing posts that say "just read 9X pages". Why do I only have 24 pages? I must real the other 70+ pages!

Depends how many posts per page you elected to have displayed.

I have 20 posts per page, so only 49 pages. "only"

That's why if you want to cite a post, make sure to link to the post number, not tell someone "back on page 4".

That's kind of a let down. I was hoping to have 70 more pages of reading. I started at 10pm last night, read till 5am, slept till 8am, took a microeconomics final, and then came home to finish up. Now what do I have to fill up the rest of my day? Sure I could study for my pvt ground stage check but these ATC transmissions are a little more intriguing.

Cannot allow this great thread to die. Besides 2012 may be the last year it's up anyways.....

Heard just before switching to tower frequency:

Approach Control: Southwest 123, are you on the arrival?
SW123: Uhh, well we were given direct XYZ and then join the arrival from there.
Appch: Ok.....(pause) So are you direct XYZ at this time?
SW: Yeah, uhhh, we're uhh direct XYZ.
Appch: Ok...well XYZ is 10 miles east of you.
(pause)
SW: Uhh, well, we just passed XYZ.
Appch: Nooo, XYZ is 10 east of you.

(long pause)
Unknown transmitter: D'oh!!!!

You could hear Appch trying to key up but cutting off with laughter in the background.

Default best UA premier benefit

I was in a Mooney at 6500ft VFR just having passed PVD... A UA flight must have taken off just behind me on the same heading...

PVD Approach: UA123, maintain 6000, traffic is a Mooney 11 o'clock, three miles, VFR at 6500

UA123: maintain 6000, traffic in sight. hey, Mooney, your tail is on backwards. united123.

PVD Approach: Mooney 0RD, traffic is an airbus overtaking from behind holding at 6000.

Me: Traffic in sight, and hey United, be nice, I'm Premier on your airline. mooney0RD.

UA123, without missing a beat, half a mile off my wing, laughing: I take it back!

PVD Approach: UA123, traffic no factor, climb and maintain FL250

Have to say, best Premier benefit was getting the last word My passenger was in awe lol

I had a CTR controller tell me that "his tongue stopped working" because he "drank too much coffee". That one was pretty funny.

ATC, "Delta MD88 ahead went around due to wind shear and a 30 knot loss, say intentions", ASA responded, "we'll take a look" continued, and after encountering wind shear, went around!
