Boeing Commercials
Hey there,
Yesterday I saw a Boeing commercial and started to wonder why they'd spend money like this? I thoroughly enjoyed it, but do they expect somebody to say "Look honey, Boeing is offering no payments on a new 777 until May 2009. want to buy one?"
I was also wondering why some airlines like Dynasty would bother to have a mostly Boeing paint scheme.
Obviously I don't mind seeing it one bit, but why are they marketing to by displaying their range of products on cable?

Astute questions, and you are correct - Boeing probably sells very few commercial or military aircraft to the late-night TV, impulse purchase crowd.
They probably would like to keep the company in the forefront of peoples minds because while common people can not purchase the products generally, many common people CAN purchase Boeing stock either directly or through mutual funds.

It's all about public perception.
Picture this: a happy child boeing, laughing and running across an open field boeing, her faithful dog Shep playfully chasing her boeing, flowers in bloom boeing, sun shining brightly boeing.
Insert company name at the appropriate place.
It's just good PR.
