That's a blatant violation of privacy. Taking my laptop and my phone. Don't you need a warrant and/or probable cause to do that? This is a disgrace. Can we really sink any lower?

Step on a plane or cross a border and you don't have many rights. That is just the way it is now. Privacy is mostly an illusion anyway. You just didn't know it.

Yeah, it puts them on the same level as a whole bunch of defense attorneys.

Hard to disagree with you. Is this restricted to international flights, or is domestic affected also?

Thanks for the ICE link.
Does that mean that they know where I am now?

Bull****!!! When I return to my own country, I indeed do have rights as a US Citizen. Illegal search and seizure comes to mind. Though I am not a lawyer. Those visiting as non US citizens do not have the same rights as we do. Basically, only the right to a speedy trial and habius corpus. Any lawyers out there to help me with this?? Also, when I go to Peru, Brazil, etc. etc. they will try to take my laptop. I just work around it. Before you start bashing about how I don't have anything to hide and all that, I believe we should not give up liberty for safety, EVER! You'll never get it back. Also, I've already done my share of killing Taliban and Al Queda. So I don't have a problem doing what needs to be done. Just don't think we should be taking liberty from our own people. To many people in the 1700's fought and died to get it for us.

Did you read the original link? Do you know the limits of search allowed by ICE?
I didn't bash anyone, but whether you are a criminal or not your general attitude has a lot to do with how you are going to get treated.
I am not for giving any more freedom, power, or money to any government.
As a matter of fact, I would like to get some back, but they didn't call to consult me or make such an offer. In the mean time consider me just a reporter of facts.

I just grabbed your post from above about getting on planes and giving up rights. You are correct. My biggest problem was the US citizen who was back on soil getting searched. With no probable cause, we should all have problem with this. We agree.
