Is your crew hotel like this one?
Here's a picture/video of an abandoned hotel in North Korea.
Doesn't this remind you of some of your hotels?

It's funny how one person can express their opinion like it is a fact. I don't think it's hideous. If that building was in Vegas it would be the crown jewel of the strip. At least that's what you would think after puff piece put out by the PR firm.
As far as overnight hotels go though. The dive hotel a lot of crews stay at in LAX is the Furama. Anyone ever been there?

wow, north korea is a weird place. god bless all those people that live there, and all the babies that are born there. it boggles my mind that the COUNTRY ran out of money to finish a building. but atleat they can afford to build and test nuclear weapons (while their people starve). sad

Gotta agree with Mike- personally, I like the symmetry. Certainly, when the windows and any cladding/coating were put on, it would look different.
Worst US hotels-
Holiday Inn ELP Airport- blood in the room, bullet sized patches on the wallpaper, looked like a crime scene...
Holiday Inn Airport- CLE Hotel wasn't bad, but right in the flight path, sounded like the planes were 20 feet above the top floor on approach. Don't get me wrong, I love airport and planes, but it was a little hard to get to sleep.
Many others, although they were away from airports so crews wouldn't see them.

The facts are the really hideous part, 2% of GNP from a country that starves a good portion of it's population and trods on the rest. A great unoccupied, unfinished tribute to insane Communist totalitarianism. No wonder they are ashamed of it.
If that building were in Vegas it would still be ugly, but it would be built to a reasonable standard. They do have tourists, gambling and a way to occupy it. None of that exists in NK.
