Ok, so how does one get through security, especially a minor, with handcuff's in their bag???? I'd think those would show up real nice on the TSA's x-ray scanner???

The military uses plastic handcuffs...basically giant modified zip-ties. They work just fine, you cannot escape from them.

Yeah, seen those, but the way the article stated it they were regular ones, but then again no one knows probably.

I don't see the problem here. The teen did nothing suspicious or dangerous. He didn't bring anything illegal onboard. He didn't even get disruptive during the flight. The only thing unusual was that he had handcuffs and tape in his bag, and a cockpit mock up (like Microsoft flight simulator) at his house. Tons of kids have cockpit simulators at home.

What are they leaving out that makes the kid become a hijack suspect? What am I missing?

"The FBI dismissed broadcast reports Thursday night that the teen was planning to crash the plane into a "Hannah Montana" concert in Lafayette, La."

We are overnighting in Lafayette tonight. That would have been ..not good.

I thought the Hannah Montana bit was pretty random... but funny.
