Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

To each their own regarding boots and uniforms. I keep my boots for when im working on the farm, and keep my uniform shoes strictly to a pair of black Rockports. Actually in my first corp. Job we were required to wear Med. shine, black cap-toes. This is when I started wearing the Rockports and their the best shoes out there in my opinion, Waterproof, Air insoles, and always last a long time.

1. I dont have to worry about what color sock I have to wear
2. They are great for when you have to do a walk around in 6" or more of Snow and ICE
3. I dont like my legs Cold the ECS system in the CRJ is the crappiest thing ever invented, well next to the C-141 ECS but I digress if you have never worn a good pair of Boots I suggest you try..

Boots...Love 'em!
BTW, I thought about this thread when I went shoe-shopping the other day LoL...finally had to trade my Johnston & Murphy's in (they kicked the bucket on me after about 14 months) for a pair of Ecco's...
If I had found a good pair of boots, however

Thats a feat considering we never use jetways, so we walk though the snow, salt and water before every leg, every day.

I'm gonna third the Deer Staggs. Had mine for just about 2 years and they are holding up real well inside and out. Security friendly and don't look bad with a pair of jeans when you go out on an overnight. Mine are starting to show their age with some scuffs and nics but nothing a $5 shoe shine wouldn't fix. Long story short, last pair of shoes I bought for work were Deer Staggs and the next pair will be Deer Staggs.

Bought me some Johnston Murphy's. Love them, very comfortable, real leather.
I'm sorry but professional pilots don't wear cowboy boots. They do not look professional. Go back to the farm.

das boot?
Deer Stags are junk. You get what you pay for. Made in China. Rubber and sole separates. Did this on both pairs I had.

I have a pair of ostrich skin boots that are as comfortable as wearing a pair of slippers. Have worn the same type of boot for the better part of a decade while flying as a "professional airline pilot" and received nothing but compliments.
I'll make you a deal. When I no longer see professional pilots wearing I-Pods, back packs, and sporting spikey hair doo's, as well as everyone wearing thier ^&^%%$# hats then I'll lose the boots that actually look very nice with the uniform.
On a side note I actually wore my boots to my major airline interview with my suit. I noticed that both pilots interviewing me also were wearing boots, soooo I must have gotten hired because of my lucky boots.
