Default Contrarian choice?

2006 Jeep Wrangler. Magazines & surveys give it a low rating, but I like it and it's been problem-free since day one.

was cruising a 05 Legacy GT turbo..then unemployment came...sold the car for exactly what i had paid for it (had it for over a year and put 30k on it). Now back to the classic Scrambler.

2005 GMC pickup. Paid for.
Wife has a 2008 Ford Hybrid. Paid for.
Harley is paid for.

In this industry, don't get anything you need to have a loan on, because it is only a matter of time before you are getting unemployment checks.

Not trying to be harsh, just real.

For me: 1999 toyota camery, bought it from a old lady, and drove it all the way from TX to CA looking for CFI job, end up instructing in San Antonio, TX.
Very good car, 30+ mpg, plan to drive it for another 100K

For her: 2006 VW new beetle, bought it used, got a loan on it (hope to stay employed as long as possible), very cute car, and quite powerful.

My dream car: Hummer H2
Her dream car: Audi TT
