What makes a "Good Pilot"
#13
I would say so..anybody can fly a plane its the person that flies with their brain instead of the muscles that is a good pilot.
it all contributes into someone being a good stick. as mentioned another attribute to a good pilot is someone who can help groom someone else into being better than they are. When I was a full time CFI I tried to make every student better than I was, as a leader in the cockpit you are doing a disservice if you are not doing the same.

Experience
Technical excellence is expected along with the ability fly. I think the mark of a good pilot is someone who has been around the block enough to know pitfalls and dangers within the system that might be readily apparent on the surface. Also, someone who is actually fun to fly with.

Yes. Stick and rudder is a minor factor unless you fly tactical military or aerobatics. Nobody fails airline training on a hand-flown ILS...they fail on multi-tasking, prioritizing, assertiveness, and/or judgement. Proper management of the PNF usually solves these problems.

I'm not flying for a living (yet) but would classify a good pilot as a pilot who can put common sence into the cockpit and knows how to say "no." No, the weather is too bad to fly; no, you can't take all of the luggage you own because the plane is overweight; no, you can't take all of your friends beacuse the plane is out of weight and balance. Its saying "no" that leads pilots to being old pilots and not bold pilots. Just my opinion and remember its a free opinion therefore, worthless.
