Taking a date flying?

Definetly do it..not only is is a very memorable date as opposed to something more mundane, its also a chance to show off that safety minded, responsible and competent guy that women love. No doubt the wheels will be turning in her mind.."My life is in his hands". Ace that and score one free upgrade. Plus who knows..if it goes well and shes around longer than most airlines then she's gonna have to deal with that aviation mistress. This way she can never say she didn't know.
A couple things to keep in mind.. don''t under any circumstances be a show off. Not that you would anyways, we are all perfect aviators all the time right?! ;- But I could tell you a tale about a guy who took a young lass to the movies on a date, except he did it in an airplane. Ran outta gas and crashed landed on the roof. Not the way to go.
Keep it pretty much straight and level, yanking and banking comes later. Be nonchalant about it and don't spend the next 2 hours afterwards talking about flying. Do it at sunset for sure ~ it didn't hurt I was in Socal which meant an in-flight suggestion that the beach looked pretty and we should go there afterwards.
And I second the motion..let her get a little stick time!

Before you go, it's not a bad idea to call Nashville TRACON and let them know you'd like to fly around the city. Most nights, they're pretty cool about it, but occasionally someone has a bad day. Tends to happen to our MT tails, but only if the controllers sense weakness. Be smooth, and be safe.

One time I was taking said GF for her first general aviation flight. We were taxiing out when we notice the 206 that had just taken off was turning back towards the field.....she said "what's he doing?" I said....."Um.....crashing". Because by that time the 206 had done a 180 but was now about 300-400 ft away from the centerline in a 70 degree bank and 70 degree pitch down...it came down right on top of a 310 and a Bonanza. No fire or anything but it was really bad to watch. We decided that maybe we'd fly another day. Three planes totaled. I later learned the 206 pilot only received a gash to his forehead and it was the 'ol water in the tanks. GF did fly with me many other times though.

If I recall Howard Hughes got a bit of "luck" from doing this when he took Katheryn Hepburn up, letting her take the controlls, and even had her share his bottle of milk!jeez, how romantic

I took this one slut in a 172 out of COF at night and let her fly a bit then took the plane down for an approach into ORL -- downtown on final... she ended up telling me she loves me after knowing her for 8 days and was drop-dead-serious about marrying me after 3 weeks... she now lives in a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER -- true story.
