Sunglasses question: Polarized vs. not
Ok, so I'm shopping for some new sunglasses for myself for Christmas (from my wife), and the Bolle's that I really like also happen to be polarized. I've heard this is a no-no for pilots, but one of my buddies who flies for Independence swears by his. Does anyone out there use polarized sunglasses and if so how do they affect viewing flat panel displays? How do they affect your vision through curved/heated/polarized windscreens?

I've never had an issue with the polarized lenses that I wear... I flew the CRJ and now fly the Citation. On the very, very, very rare occassion, there might be a small splotch here and there, but it never affected my flying. (moving your head a degree to either side fixed the problem)

Don't get polarized glasses. As much as I love them for anything other than flying, they do not work in the cockpit. In my MD-80 for example, the digits on the autopilot panel and radios are not visible at certain angles, the windscreen looks psychedelic and the FMC is not readable at certain angles.
Get some dark grey wrap around lenses (The sides should be covered).
