did you charge it?!
when i got mine it needed a full charge and i think the first time you use it you are supposed to keep using it til the battery goes to empty. I think it has ni-cad batteries which get memory over time and if you use it for like 20 minutes then charge it over and over, it will think the battery is dead after 20 minutes....

First, you need to charge it: then, you hold the button in the center to turn it on.
Also, make sure the "hold" feature isn't activated.
One time, my iPod got busted. I just let its battery run down until it was completely dead; then, I plugged it into my comp., and it worked again Go figure . . .

Hi!
It might be DOA. My wife bought me a new one (luckily with a 3 year guarantee). I told her to buy a refurbished one, because they have a better chance of working.
My 1st new one quit. My 2nd new one quit. Then BestBuy changed their program, because they had so many returns. The 3rd one was refurbished, and works fine.
Lots of failures with new ones. Refurbished are all tested and/or fixed, so you know they work.

Hi!
"Ask a child...." pretty funny.
It took me quite a while to figure out how to turn my Blackberry one (I'm pretty technologically savvy). I gave it to my 8 year old as a test, and asked him to turn it on. It took him about 3 seconds.
