Time to get ready in the morning
#32
In other news...what kind of numbnut starts a thread like this!? I realize this is a "free" and "open" forum for "professional" pilots but who needs to ask advice on when to get up in the morning? Are there seriously 20 somethings who are working at the airlines who can't figure out when they need to roll out of bed to be downstairs at specific time? I realize that spiking hair and making a playlist for the day on the iPod takes time but CHRIST! If you have to convene a committee to answer this question then you probably suck at life.
Ok, rant over. I'm a little peeved that UT beat Miami so I apologize if this seems a little harsh

Wake up, first thought is "where the bleep am I?" I know it’s not home when the bed sucks and I’m either freezing or melting.
Time passes. . .
Second thought, “why did I wake up?” 1st Alarm, 2nd alarm, phone, gunshot, master warning, or nature call.
Time passes. . .
“Do I gotta get up?” The amount of time it takes to get to this point depends on the second question and I usually check the phone’s clock. I unplugged the room’s alarm clock the night before.
If it’s an “oh bleep I’m gonna be late” it takes under five minutes to get out the door.
If it was a short overnight, it takes twenty minutes.
If it was a normal or long overnight, it can take an hour.
If I’m on reserve or on a really long overnight and woke up just ‘cause, I might not get up.

Set the phone and the room alarm clock for 30 minutes prior. Have everything laid out already. Never get a wake up call because 5-10% of the time they screw it up.
I turn the ringer off on my cell phone so anyone calling doesn't wake me up and the alarm still works fine.
