hilarious!
They must have taken world war II pilots into that pole, which then would understandably put pilots second on that list for deadliest jobs...
Someone at CNN is throwing darts at occupations to make statistics!!!

Sadly,nothing new here
Pilots have been in the Bureau of Labor Statistics top ten list of most dangerous jobs every year for years. The number of people killed versus the relatively small number of people employed as pilots is what puts us on the list, the second link below shows a death rate of over 92 per 100,000 employed. Roofers have a death rate of 35 per 100,000 people employed.

That seems hard to believe. Sure there are several hundred(probably) fatalities a year in aviation, but are they all commercially rated pilots performing those priviledges? I tend to think that our industry is a relatively safe one. Before comair, weren't we in the longest stretch of time without a major crash?

You are thinking just airline accidents. The majority of these deaths are not from airline flying. Like was said before its the Crop Dusting, Fire Fighting, Airshow Pilots, Bush Pilots, etc. That type of flying is inherently more dangerous and yields more accidents.
